Whether you’re preparing your home to sell or you’re simply sprucing things up, pressure washing the exterior can really boost the curb appeal of your home. But how do you decide whether you should rent or buy a pressure washer? Here are two factors to consider.

Budget
Buying a pressure washer outright is pretty expensive (low-end models start at $100). You can rent a pressure washer, on the other hand, for anywhere from $27.00 for 4 hours to $468 for 4 weeks. Keep in mind, however, that pressure washing takes a lot longer than you might think. You may have to go slowly and methodically to achieve the results you’re wanting, so be sure to factor that in as you decide whether renting or buying is better for your budget.
Scale of job
Is it just your deck and patio furniture that needs a good pressure wash or are your gutters clogged, your driveway slippery from moss growth, and your siding green? The scale of the job is important when you’re deciding between renting or buying a pressure washer. If you just need to do a small job here or there, it’s probably better to rent a pressure washer. But if you’ve got a large scale job that needs tackling, buying a pressure washer might be the better way to go.
